Famous Tang dynasty official and general (630-699) known for his military success against the Tibetans and his remarkable patience and tolerance; he is the source of the idiom 唾面自干 tuò​miàn​zì​gān for his advice to 'let spit dry on one's face' rather than wipe it off and offend the spitter.
