Lady in the Moon
The Moon Goddess of Chinese mythology, wife of the legendary archer 后羿 hòu​yì. She is said to have stolen an elixir of immortality and flown to the moon. This form was originally a replacement for 姮娥 héng'é to avoid a naming taboo, and is now often written as 嫦娥 cháng'é.
