Literally "the trees long for peace but the wind will never cease"; used to describe how objective circumstances often go against one's wishes. It is frequently used alongside 子欲养而亲不待 zǐ​yù​yǎng'ér​qīn​bù​dài to lament that by the time children are ready to care for their parents, the parents have already passed away.
