Wen Tingyun
Late Tang Dynasty poet and lyricist (c. 812–870), known for his ornate style and as a pioneer of the song lyric form. Renowned for his quick wit, he was nicknamed "Eight-Overlaps Wen" because he could complete an eight-rhyme poem in the time it took to clasp his hands eight times. He is often associated with 李商隐 lǐshāngyǐn as the representative writers of the late Tang period.
