(literary) People who are either overly aggressive in their pursuits or overly cautious and principled; radicals and ultraconservatives. Derived from the Analects, where 狂 kuáng describes those who are overly ambitious and 狷 juàn describes those who keep to themselves and avoid doing wrong.
