A famous figure from the Eastern Han Dynasty known for his extreme filial piety; according to legend, he sold himself into slavery to pay for his father's funeral, which moved the heavens to send a celestial maiden to marry him and help pay off his debt. His story is one of the 二十四孝 èr​shí​sì​xiào.
