韩侂冑 hántuōzhòu Han Tuozhou
Han Tuozhou (1151–1207), a powerful Southern Song Dynasty statesman and great-grandson of [[韩琦|韓琦|han2 qi2]]. He wielded immense influence during the reign of Emperor Ningzong, serving as the Chancellor of military and state affairs. Known for leading the Kaixi Northern Expedition against the Jin Dynasty, he also suppressed Neo-Confucianism by labeling it as "False Learning," leading to the persecution of scholars like [[朱熹|朱熹|zhu1 xi1]]. He was eventually assassinated and his head was sent to the Jin as part of a peace settlement.
