The Whampoa Military Academy, established in 1924 by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China to train officers for the Chinese revolutionary army; also known as the Huangpu Military Academy.

The United States Military Academy; the oldest military academy in the United States, located on the west bank of the Hudson River. Founded in 1802, it provides a four-year education for cadets leading to a bachelor's degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Army.
