Xu Chongsi
(10th century) North Song dynasty painter from Nanjing; grandson of the famous flower-and-bird painter 徐熙 xú​xī. He is credited with creating the 'boneless' (mò gǔ) style of painting, which uses direct color washes instead of ink outlines.
