A central female character in the classic Chinese novel 红楼梦hónglóumèng, also known by the courtesy name Gōngcái and the pseudonym Dàoxiāng lǎonóng; she is the widowed sister-in-law of the protagonist 贾宝玉jiǎbǎoyù, depicted as a virtuous and modest widow devoted to raising her son.
