The Daoist deity of the north; often depicted holding a seven-star sword with his feet resting on a turtle and a snake. Originally known as [[玄武|玄武|xuan2 wu3]], he is commonly worshipped for health and longevity and is also known as [[真武大帝|真武大帝|zhen1 wu3 da4 di4]].
