- A general term for various regional opera styles popular during the Qing dynasty, such as 京腔 jīngqiāng and 秦腔 qínqiāng. Known for their popular appeal, simple language, and loud, diverse instrumental accompaniment, they were often collectively referred to as 乱弹 luàntán.
