- 姚苌 yáocháng Yao ChangFounding emperor of the Later Qin dynasty (ruled 384–393) during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. Originally a general under Fu Jian of the Former Qin, he later established his own kingdom and captured Chang'an. His posthumous name was Emperor Wuzhao.
- 毛苌 máocháng Mao ChangA scholar of the Western Han dynasty known for his work on the Classic of Poetry; referred to by contemporaries as the "Junior Master Mao" to distinguish him from his teacher [[毛亨|毛亨|mao2 heng1]].
