- 裴度 péidù Pei DuA famous minister and high official (765–839) of the Tang Dynasty known for his loyalty and role in restoring central authority during the mid-Tang period.
- 裴松之 péisōngzhī Pei SongzhiPei Songzhi (372-451), a famous historian of the Liu Song dynasty during the Southern Dynasties period; he is best known for his extensive annotations to Chen Shou's [[三国志|三國志|san1 guo2 zhi4]]
- 裴行俭 péixíngjiǎn Pei XingjianPei Xingjian (619–682), a famous Tang dynasty general and calligrapher known for his military strategy and skill in regular and cursive script
- 裴迪 péidí Pei DiPei Di (714–?), a famous Tang dynasty nature poet and official who served as the prefect of Shuzhou. He was a close friend of [[王维|王維|wang2 wei2]] and [[杜甫|杜甫|du4 fu3]], often writing poems in response to theirs while living in retirement at Zhongnan Mountain.
- 裴秀 péixiù Pei XiuFamous government official and geographer of the Western Jin dynasty (224-271); known as the father of traditional Chinese cartography, he created the "Yu Gong Di Yu Tu" and established the six principles of map-making.
- 裴航 péiháng Pei Hanglegendary scholar of the Tang Dynasty who met the woman Yunying at Lanqiao Station and became an immortal
- 裴回 péihuí to pace back and forthto walk back and forth; to linger or dither; to hesitate; also used to describe fluctuating sales figures or statistics
- 裴矩 péijǔ Pei JuPei Ju (died 627), a prominent official and diplomat of the Sui and early Tang dynasties known for his extensive knowledge of Central Asian geography and customs; author of the "Xiyu Tuji" (Illustrated Records of the Western Regions).
- 裴頠 péiwěi Pei WeiPei Wei (267–300), a Western Jin dynasty philosopher, scholar, and politician. Known for his work "Chongyou Lun" (Treatise on Honoring Existence), he opposed the dominant "guìwú" (valuing nothingness) philosophy of his time. He was killed during the War of the Eight Princes.
- 裴骃 péiyīn Pei YinPei Yin (dates unknown), a famous historian of the Liu Song dynasty during the Northern and Southern dynasties; author of the influential commentary to the Records of the Grand Historian titled [[史记集解|史記集解|shi3 ji4 ji2 jie3]].
