Refers to the philosophers and various schools of thought from the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, or the books containing their teachings. This group is often collectively called the 诸子百家 zhū​zǐ​bǎi​jiā.

(archaic) An official position in the Zhou dynasty responsible for the education and management of the eldest sons of high officials.
