- Beware of suspicious people bearing gifts; used to describe someone who is being friendly or generous but has hidden, malicious intentions. This is the first part of a two-part allegorical saying (xiehouyu) whose hidden second part is 没安好心 méi'ānhǎoxīn, meaning "to have no good intentions".
