元始天尊 yuánshǐtiānzūn Celestial Worthy of Primordial Beginning
The highest deity in Daoism and the first of the Three Pure Ones; he represents the creative power of the Dao and is typically depicted holding a pearl. Also known as 元始天王 yuánshǐtiānwáng or 玉清大帝 yùqīngdàdì.
