(literary) person who willingly serves the public; refers to a story from the "Zuo Zhuan" where Duke Jing of Qi played the role of an ox for his young son to pull.

孺子牛 rú​zǐ​niú indulgent parent

(archaic) parent who dotes on or indulges their children, based on the original allusion to Duke Jing of Qi playing with his son.
