A legendary physician and minister to the Yellow Emperor 黄帝 huáng​dì. His dialogues with the Emperor on medicine are recorded in the 内经 nèi​jīng (Inner Canon of Medicine). Along with the Yellow Emperor, he is one of the namesakes of the term 岐黄 qí​huáng used to describe traditional Chinese medicine.
