Shih Ming-teh (1941–2024), a prominent Taiwanese politician and activist who was imprisoned for 25 years during the Kuomintang era; he later served as a leader of the 民进党 mín​jìn​dǎng and led the 2006 protests against 陈水扁 chén​shuǐ​biǎn.
