A famous Tang Dynasty story by Shen Jiji which tells of a young scholar who falls asleep on a magic pillow while a pot of millet is cooking. In his dream, he lives a full life of success and failure, but awakens to find the millet is still not even cooked. This story is the source of the idiom 黄粱一梦 huáng​liáng​yī​mèng, meaning life's glory is fleeting.
