Nian Army, an insurgent group that led a major peasant rebellion against the Qing dynasty in North China from 1851 to 1868. Originally derived from the [[捻子|捻子|nian3 zi5]] or [[捻党|捻黨|nian3 dang3]], they fought alongside the [[太平天国|太平天國|tai4 ping2 tian1 guo2]] before being defeated in Shandong.
