禅门五宗 chánménwǔzōng five schools of Chan Buddhism
The five branches of the [[禅宗|禪宗|chan2 zong1]] school that developed in China after the monk [[慧能|慧能|hui4 neng2]]; specifically the [[临济|臨濟|lin2 ji4]], [[沩仰|溈仰|gui1 yang3]], [[云门|雲門|yun2 men2]], [[法眼|法眼|fa3 yan3]], and [[曹洞|曹洞|cao2 dong4]] schools.
