Shache County (also known as Yarkant or Yarkand) located in Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang. It was historically known as [[叶尔羌|葉爾羌|ye4 er3 qiang1]] and served as a major trade hub on the Silk Road connecting to the Pamir Mountains and Central Asia.
