    Concubine Mei

    A legendary character from the Song Dynasty novel "The Biography of Concubine Mei," said to be a favorite concubine of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. Originally named [[江采苹|江采蘋|jiang1 cai3 ping2]], she was famously fond of plum blossoms and was later cast aside due to the jealousy of [[杨贵妃|楊貴妃|yang2 gui4 fei1]]. While some traditions treat her as historical, she is widely considered a fictional figure created by later authors.
