Chen Jiru
Chen Jiru (1558–1639), a Ming dynasty literatus, calligrapher, and painter from Huating (modern-day Songjiang, Shanghai). Known by the pseudonym Meigong, he excelled in landscape and ink-and-wash flower painting, notably plum blossoms and bamboo. He was a contemporary of [[董其昌|董其昌|dong3 qi2 chang1]] and is famous for his essays and short prose collections.
